Sickening scenes as famous star dies after horror crash with bicycle

A CYCLIST Andre Drege died in a crash at the Tour of Austria.

On stage four of the race, the 25-year-old lost control of his bike while riding for his home team, Coop-Repsol.

Filippo Ganna of the Ineos Grenadiers team won the race, but the podiums and awards ceremonies had to be canceled because of what happened.

A good season on the road made people think that Drege would do well on the professional tour.

As soon as the sad news of his death spread, tributes came from all over the sports world.

This is what the American team EF Education–EasyPost tweeted: “A loss felt in the entire cycling community.” “Our thoughts are with André Drege’s family, friends, and teammates.” André, please rest in peace.

The Belgian team Intermarche-Wanty said, “We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of André Drege, a fellow cyclist who had a bright future ahead of him.”

“Our hearts go out to his family and his team during this sad time.”

Union Cycliste Internationale said in a statement, “The UCI is heartbroken to hear of the death of professional cyclist André Drege at the Tour of Austria.”

“Our thoughts are with his family, friends and teammates.”

“We’re shocked and heartbroken by the terrible news from the Tour of Austria,” the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team said.

We are very sorry for André Drege’s death and wish his friends, family, and teammates strength. “May he rest in peace.”
